Beginning to design and build his first guitar at age 13, Francis has now spent over 24 years of his life as a designer maker; feeling into form, refining sense of line, and listening to bits of wood to establish practical, ergonomic and conceptual frameworks to deliver usable and beautiful handmade products. 

With formal studies in Fine art/sculpture (BA), Furniture design (Dip), and Anthroposophical studies (Dip), Francis brings a balance of philosophical and intuitive sensibilities to design and believes that a beautifully made, beautifully tactile, beautiful sounding product can deliver an experience to the beholder akin to the reverence with which the maker made.
